The link between brain injury and post-traumatic stress disorder!

A study led by Ann Hoffman in Michael Fanselow's lab (collaboration with David A. Hovda, and Christopher C. Giza) suggests that changes in sensory processing after traumatic brain injury (TBI) contribute to enhanced fear learning and amygdala hyperactivity which could explain how brain injury increases the probability of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
